GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Swim Instructor position is responsible for conducting Glean Oaks swimming instruction and keeping participants safe during programming. Instructors will be trained to teach water safety, swim basics, swim strokes, and stroke progression.
Instructors will be paid at an hourly rate plus 80% commission for each lesson. Instructors may teach up to five 30 minute lessons a day.

Education, Experience & Requirements:
- Lifeguard Certification (GOCC will pay to have applicants certified).
- CPR/First Aid/AED Certification.
- Successful completion of background check.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- 16+ years of age.
Summer Schedule:
- Morning lessons, mid-day lessons, and evening lessons are offered. All lessons are 1-on-1 private lessons.
Job Tasks:
- Always monitor and supervise swimmers to ensure their safety.
- Provide adequate swim lessons to all participants.
- Build rapport with parents of participants to well represent Glean Oaks Country Club.
- Respond to all incidents requiring first aid and follow emergency action procedures.
- Actively enforce all pool rules.
- Vacuum pool bottom; empty automatic skimmers; skim bugs and other debris from the surface to prepare the pool for daily use.
- Maintain cleanliness and all amenities in pool locker rooms including changing rooms, bathrooms, and showers.
- Attend all regularly scheduled staff meetings and in-service training.
- Report any safety issues immediately to the supervisor.
- Perform administrative record keeping including sign-in/out sheets, accident/incident, and opening and closing duty reports.
- Maintain a courteous, polite, and helpful relationship with all Members and guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Reports to: Aquatics Director, Aquatics Assistant Managers.
